We have developed this cover in association with Zurich Auto Insurance specifically for the horse owner.
Cover includes all the usual comprehensive motor extensions including windscreen but additionally our scheme includes three very unique and important extensions.
In the event of an accident you will have:
- Up to $500 Emergency Veterinary Costs – if your horses are injured in the accident the cost of calling out a vet is covered.
- Up to $500 Emergency Agistment Costs – if your float or truck is unable to continue your journey and you cannot find alternative transport then cost of temporary agistment is covered.
- Up to $500,000 Third party property damage caused by an escaped horse(s) as a result of the accident.
These extensions are not available from any other insurance company.
The excesses applicable to the cover are
Deductible of 1% of the vehicles Market Value, subject to a minimum of $400 in respect of Trucks, $250 in respect of Floats, in
respect of each and every claim, plus the following additional underage and new driver deductibles:
- $500 additional for drivers aged between 21 and 25 years of age at the date of loss.
- $1,000 additional for drivers aged less than 21 years of age at the date of loss or who have held a full licence for less than 12
months immediately preceding the date of loss.
Note
If you have recently tried to insure your new truck or float you would be aware that most insurance companies will not quote unless they have your other insurance business, this is not a factor when insuring with Quadrant Insurance. If everything is satisfactory then they will accept your application even if you don’t insure your horse with them!
You will find the premium rates are competitive with the other insurance companies and the excesses are similar to those required by all insurance companies.
